THIS installation called Imprint features curtains designed to mimic sun-bleached fabric, symbolizing the subtle, gradual transformations of climate change. On the curtains are patterns that show the illusion of windows by years of sun exposure, creating a powerful metaphor for climate change’s slow and often unnoticed effects.

By presenting the fabric as if it were window treatments altered over time, Yvonne invites viewers to reflect on the subtle, invisible shifts occurring in our environment. This installation underscores the delicate balance between nature and human activity, prompting a deeper awareness of the ongoing transformations reshaping our planet. At the same time, there are reasons to be optimistic, as nature-friendly technologies, products, foods, and habits continue to rise, offering hope for a more sustainable future.

A mirage is one optical phenomenon that is the result of temperature inversion. This mirror phenomenon can often be seen in places of drought. Earth has been getting warmer and glaciers are melting. The earth needs the white landscapes to reflect the heat of the sun back into the atmosphere. Mirrored surfaces and silver sheets will help the earth cool down.
